The whole text takes the tunnel engineering design as the main line. It briefly describes the design philosophies and basic requirements of the tunnel, the development of tunnel design theory and methodology based on both local and overseas practices, as well as the achievements in tunnel engineering in China. Combined with the characteristics of tunnel engineering in China and the author's years of design and engineering practice experience,the book outlines the design of tunnel support, special tunnel structures, tunnel waterproofing, design of tunnel in complex geology and difficult ground conditions, design to suit special tunnel construction methods as well as other designs and analyses concerning the typical tunnel design case histories in China. This book systematically summarizes the experience and latest achievements of tunnel design in China, represents the technical level of contemporary tunnel engineering design in China.
