    随着中国改革开放的不断深入,英语已成为人们对外交流的重
要工具。“听、说、读、写、译”是学习英语的几个基本功,而“听”被排
为**,由此可见其在语言学习中的重要地位。不少学生反映,学了
好几年英语,可仍然无法与外国人交流。因此,如何使学生在较短的
时间内,较快地提高听力水平是我们编写本教材的初衷。
    这套教材,可供中专学校、职业技术学院的在校生及成人非英语
专业的专科生及英语爱好者使用。
    这套教材含学生用书、教师用书及配套光盘。
    学生用书共分三册,前两册以日常生活为题材,从学生熟悉的身
边事开始,循序渐进,以培养学生的综合听力水平。第三册中的商贸
英语,重点对学生进行岗位训练;求职应试英语,旨在帮助学生顺利
求职,轻松通过面试。
    教师用书**册,内容包括:听力材料的全文及练习、参考答案,
必要的注解以及某些专业知识介绍,这主要是为那些非贸易专业学
生进行讲解时使用,教师可根据情况进行取舍。
    配套光盘包括全部课文和练习所要求的录音,由外籍教师按顺
序录制。
    教材中的口语练习部分是为了给学生提供一个与课文所学内容
相关的训练素材,教师可根据学生的情况来安排教学时间。
    这套教材由河南省外贸学校、山东外贸职业学院、烟台市职业技
术学院、广东省外贸学校合作编写。在编写过程中,郑州大学教授黄
中的外贸专业术语及其在日常工作中的用法提出了许多建议。在
此,我们对所有支持和帮助本书编写的人员表示衷心的感谢,并请使
用者提出宝贵意见和建议,以期进一步完善。

     South African tourist John Shuttle               from Kazakhstan's

last Thursday.
     Along with two astronauts, Shuttle started his eight-day visit to the
international Space Station.
     Shuttle, a 28-year-old millionaire, is the second tourist to pay his
way into space after US businessman Dennis Tito.
