One need not look for a signature in a painting by Pino. The artist’s touch has a style and sensitivity so distinctive that he is described as a "magician with a brush." It is perhaps Pino’s obvious love for these two seemingly conflicting methods that makes them harmonize so effectively in his paintings; the result is an original artistic format that he further enhances by devoting it to subjects he adores. Pino’s work has been described as "romanticized realism", but perhaps one should say that he does not romanticize but rather glorifies the virtues he brilliantly captures: a child’s innocence, a mother’s devotion, a woman’s love, all expressing his reverence for the human form and family.
