本书对青藏高原及其周边的温泉进行了分类,并根据其重要性分别对温泉出露地点和水化学特征做了详细的介绍;分析了温泉集中出现的地质背景,提出了本区出露的高温水热对流系统是一种新的类型,即陆壳-陆壳碰撞型;探讨了地下3–10 km深处干热岩的资源潜力。 本书资料来源于作者在20世纪70–80年代参与中国科学院青藏高原综合科学考察队的地热组地热考察成果,有些属首次整理发表,是重要的基础性资料,对于全面了解青藏高原地热状况以及估计青藏高清洁可再生能源的开发很有科学价值,宜于保存和国际交流。
