作为世界东方的文明古国,中国也是酒的故乡和酒文化的发源地。而白酒和黄酒都是中国独有的,是中华民族重要的非物质文化遗产,中华文化鲜明的符号,但全球对白酒、黄酒的了解程度远不及威士忌、白兰地、伏特加和红酒。本书以国酒(即白酒、黄酒)为题,用讲“故事”的表达形式,首次对中国白酒和黄酒进行了系统的归纳。在不长的篇幅内,以清晰、简明、通俗而严谨的语言,将中国白酒和黄酒的概念、特色、酿造的工艺、香型的区分与特点以及名酒的故事等进行了集中介绍,力争成为社会大众和海外消费者了解中国酒、研究中国酒、品味中国酒的一部百科全书。本书在倡导健康饮国酒的同时,大力推动白酒、黄酒的外文音译:即白酒英文为“Baijiu”,黄酒英文为“Huangjiu”,并在国外英文期刊发表文章时付诸实践。这在我国大力推进“一带一路”和中国文化“走出去”倡议的背景下,在传承中国酒的技艺和文化、让世界认识中国酒、了解中国酒、接受中国酒文化过程中具有积极的推动作用。让中国酒更大范围地漂洋过海登上国际舞台,其首要问题就是对消费者的普及教育,此为编写英文版《国酒》图书目的所在。
