叶圣陶，whose real name was ye shaojun and courtesy name shengtao， is a well-known author， educator， editor， publisher and social activist， being the first writer who created fairy tales in the 1920s，he published "the scarecrow"， in 1923， which has won great popularity among children， his "the stone statue of and ancient hero "，a simple but readable story， tells about how a piece of stone was carved into a statue of hero， the moral of which is to ridicule the arrogance of authorities and the numbness of the public. 张宝钧，professor of translation in Beijing Language and Culture University The literary works he translated include "Clarence Darrow for the Defense" by Irving Stone， and "Flight of the Stone Angel" by Carol O'Connell.
