节选
In September, Beijing ushers in the most beautiful season. The sky is clear with a few thin-layer clouds on it. Autumn breezes make us feel fresh. I am very happy to be here to discuss human rights protection with new and old friends in the field of human rights in this wonderful season. First, I would like to express my warm congratulations on the hosting of the forum and express my sincere welcome to all the distinguished guests present here, especially those from afar! The theme of this for um is “Pover ty Elimination: Seek ing Common Development to Build a Community of Shared Future for Human Beings,” which entails the vision of human rights development, and reflects the common concern of the international community to solve poverty and better protect human rights, embodying strong practical significance.Over ten days ago, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation just ended. This forum is about a dialogue between the world’s largest developing country and the continent with most developing countries on cooperation and development. Poverty eradication is one of the important topics of this forum. In the keynote speech at the opening ceremony, President Xi Jinping stated that China would make new and greater efforts for poverty eradication and development, employment and revenue generation, and a prosperous and contented life in Africa. Moreover, he proposed the “Eight Actions” initiative of China-Africa cooperation, planning a new route map for reducing poverty, benefiting the people and promoting common development. I believe that the joint efforts and fruitful achievements of China-Africa cooperation on poverty eradication will provide useful inspiration for the dialogue and exchanges in this forum.
