Human multi-tasking or multitasking is the performance by an individual of ap-pearing to handle more than one task at the same time. The term is derived from computermultitasking. An example of multitasking is listening to a radio interview while typing an email.The idea that women are better multitaskers than men has been popular in the media, butthere has yet to be a scientific study to confirm this. All empirical evidence seems to supportthe idea that both genders are equal in their ability to multitask. Observers of youth in modemsociety often comment upon the apparently advanced multitasking capabilities of the youngestgenerations of humans. While it is true that contemporary researchers find that youths intoday's world exhibit high levels of multitasking, most experts believe that members of the NetGeneration are not any better at multitasking than members of older generations.A personal organizer, day planner, or personal planner is a small book/binder, designed to be portable, usually containing a diary, calendar, address book, and othersections usually including blank paper. It may also include pages with useful information, suchas maps, telephone codes. It is related to the separate desktop stationery items that have one ormore of the same functions, such as appointment calendars, rolodexes, notebooks, and almanacs.Utilizing a daily planner is a must if you want to stay organized.

编者：郭庆民 张卫平 毕玉玲 等 丛书主编：何其莘 （美国）杨孝明何其莘，博士，北京外国语大学教授，博士生导师。1994年——2005年任北外副校长，现为中国人民大学外国语学院院长、清华大学双聘教授、广东外语外贸大学等29所院校的客座教授、教育部高校英语专业教学指导委员会主任、全国翻译硕士专业学位教育指导委员会副主任、全国英国文学学会会长、全国有突出贡献的中青年专家。主要成果包括：Listen to This，《新概念英语》，《文化透视英语教程》，《英国文艺复兴时期文学史》，《英国戏剧史》，《英国中古时期文学史》，《中国学者眼中的英国文学》等。杨孝明，博士，教授。毕业于西安外国语大学，后获英国诺丁汉大学英语硕士学位、美国鲍陵格林州立大学英语博士学位。在俄亥俄州鲍陵格林州立大学和新泽西州海洋郡学院任教二十余年，教授英文写作、英美文学和语言学等课程，现为新泽西州海洋郡学院英语系终身教授。主要成果包括：The Rhetoric of Propaganda，Error of Creativity A Hundred Flowers Blossoming，《中国式英语错误分析》，《文学批评理论的运用》等。
