　　《国际贸易实务》：　　There are usually two consequences resulting from force majeure events： postponement of the contract and／or termination of the contract.Whether terminating the contract or postponing the performance of the contract depends on the cletailed stipulations in the contract or on the degree to which the force majeure event has affected the performance of the contract.　　If the performance of a contract is delayed by a force majeure ease on a temporary basis or for a short time，the contract may be postponed.After the force majeure accident finishes，the contract should resume.For example，if there is a delayed shipment because of industrial strike，the contract will be postponed.But when the strike is over，the contract should continue and the seller has to go on with the shipment.　　However，generally speaking，the contract can be avoided if the occurrence of' the force majeure event makes it impossible to perform the contract.For example，if goods ready for shipment under the contract is damaged so seriously in an earthquake that it is impossible for the seller to recover within a short period of time.It this case，the seller can ask for the termination of the contract.　　……
