作者简介

赫尔曼?6?1梅尔维尔（1819—1891），美国文艺复兴时期的小说家、诗人，代表作品包括《泰皮》和《白鲸》等。他的作品大都基于自己海上航行的经历写成，表达对文学、哲学的思考，关注那时处于剧烈变动中的美国社会。但在他人生的后三十年，他的作品基本被遗忘，直到20世纪20年代才重新被文学界推崇，逐渐成为美国文学的经典。
