国际科学理事会(ICSU)曾提到,解决微损伤引起的灾变问题,可遵循中国古代学者孙子所提出的“谋无术则成事难,术无谋则必败”思想。传统线性行为一般是接**衡态的结果,但破坏过程通常是由微损伤演化的跨尺度级联所产生的。因此,有必要发展新的跨尺度理论框架来理解材料破坏中的物理现象,理清跨尺度过程中所蕴含的相关机理。本书期望通过结合力学和统计物理来回答以下问题:1.微损伤是如何诱致灾变破坏的?2.突变破坏的前兆是什么?3.是否可以通过前兆信号区分灾变和渐近破坏?4.为什么有的灾变行为并没有明显的前兆现象?在此基础上,加深对损伤诱致灾变的理解,并为灾变预报提供新思路。
